The Organization of Hispanic Faculty and Staff (OHFS)’s mission is to support the success and well being of Latin@ students, faculty, and staff. By participating in our organization, faculty and staff can make a direct contribution to the needs of students and colleagues alike. They would have the opportunity to apply their expertise and talents, such as leadership, programming, or creativity, to foment the academic and professional development of all of us at OSU.

OHFS is now working on devising strategies to address the needs of faculty, staff, and students identified during last year’s needs assessment. Currently, we are working on three proposals, including the establishment of a scholarship program to support our students and their research as well as research in areas or issues of importance to the Latin@/Hispanic communities. OHFS is also contemplating ways to support and foment faculty and staff professional development as well as creating a visiting scholars program, where Latin@ scholars, including our own OSU faculty, could present their latest research and/or projects. Last, in collaboration with the Hispanic Oversight Committee and the University Wide Council of Hispanic Organizations, we will be updating our Web pages in an effort to remain accessible to students, faculty, staff, and our Latin@ communities at large. These efforts are aimed at addressing the needs identified by our Latin@ faculty and staff during our last survey.
