Editor of ¿Qué Pasa OSU?

POSITION
Editor of the "¿Qué Pasa, OSU?" magazine

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
50% (20 hours per week)

LENGTH OF APPOINTMENT
10 months (Sept. 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004)
Renewable based on performance

COMPENSATION
Tuition and fees plus stipend of $1,000/month (possibly $1,100, depending on credentials). Partial health insurance costs are also provided.

DELIVERABLES
Four (4) issues in a ten-month period plus maintenance and update of website.

ABOUT THE MAGAZINE
¿Qué Pasa, OSU? is a quarterly magazine that serves as a vehicle of communication among Hispanic/Latinos at Ohio State, the OSU community and community leaders in Columbus.

SKILLS ANDQUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed graduate student of Ohio State. He/she must fulfill all conditions required by the university to be a graduate associate.

Applicants must be able and willing to work in an structured setting (20 hours a week). We need somebody dependable, with strong work ethic and good supervision skills. Hopefully a person that has some previous experience working for a publication. Excellent written skills in English and good interpersonal skills are a must. Experience with Adobe PageMaker and Adobe PhotoShop as well as with web-publishing software is definitely a plus. Functional knowledge of Spanish and an understanding of the Latino culture and of issues of concern to Latinos, particularly within the university, are also desirable but not necessarily required.
