Students, faculty and staff gathered in Bricker Hall for the opening reception of the Ecuadorian Cultural Ambassadors Project (ECAP). Speakers included Dr. Jose Villa, Assistant Vice Provost of the Office of Minority Affairs; Ed Ray, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs; and Victor Mora, Associate Director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience. With delicious refreshments, dynamic speakers, and a display of beautiful sculpted paintings by Ecuadorian artist Bolivar Garcia, it was certainly an event to remember. As Ed Ray stated, "It is important for our students, faculty and staff to understand that there are depths and corners of Latino culture… it's like a quilt with many pieces put together… the whole is not what it could be without the sum of all those parts- this is a piece of that quilt."
