HOTS was created to provide future and current Ohio State students with personal and academic support throughout their college years. Its main goal is to serve as a connection with students of similar origin and to alleviate the homesickness that many students experience. HOTS works closely with The Office of Minority Affairs (OMA) and the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) in their year-round recruiting efforts. Through the OMA and CAMP offices, HOTS hosts visiting students from Texas high schools, participates with college tours, and conducts student panels. HOTS also is currently involved with the Mentor-Mentee program through OMA and its members tutor Hispanic students at a local high school.
